far too much allied on here lately, so this is what I'm wearing for the Caen game.

what ya reckon. pics suck a bit but I have some bloke in the back garden doing the fence.

Looking good Pat!
One pointer, you'd be better off putting your gasmask cannister over the other shoulder (otherwise it'll bang against your waterbottle) and wearing it over your webbing, not under it.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
now funny you should say that, I kinda learned that the hard way. damn near drove me nuts, every time I moved today. can you spot the mistake?

Your e-tool & bayonet are also on the wrong side. Are you a lefty? Otherwise looking good though

nope just needed to get it on and photo'ed quickly today. I have been asked to appear as an extra.

Is that in the Keith Hunter epic?

Interesting, do tell.
this is a work in progress. DAK
Again looking good, if a little too clean for your average DAK trooper. Get the cap sun bleached (difficult this time of year I know ) and I'd give the belt an olive wash of some kind. It looks more of the later war hybrid belt (web belt with leather tab) colour, plus it also tends to stand out a mile in woodland.
Love the DAK kit
Not much sun about to fade it out though Lardy! Pat, does your missus have (or use) a sunbed? See if she'll have the DAK kit in there with her!

@ speirs Oh yes.
The shoot is for a pilot for the BBC comedy. The first part is an enemy at the gates style shot. not sure about the rest.
too right about the DAK belt, the lighting isn't really helping the DAK stuff as both the tunic and cap are quite well worn. Still it will come in time, still a bit of sorting to do with it.
Sgt.. yeah sun bit on the lacking side. no go on the sunbed. pity.

The belt is going to sorted buy using some olive dylon. apparently it works quite well.

Sounds interesting, please keep us informed.

The Tunic is looking quite nicely faded. The lighting makes it look a little grey but I guessed it wasn't really that colour.
The lack of sun can be a problem for fading.
I stuck mine through the wash, then dunked it in a salt water & petrol solution and then left in a window for a while. Had to repeat the dunking a few times and its still not as faded as I'd like but its getting there slowly.

That should do the trick.
@ Raffles - Great looking kit.
Like Gadge said, you don't need to wear the suspenders when only wearing a belt ring, however... you can use the suspenders for regular infantry too, just don't hang the musette pack off the back. A nice alternative is the 1928 haversack for regular infantry, but stick with what you have until you think you need it!
@Pat - Very nice mate, looking forward to seeing it in action at Dragoon!

Keep us posted about the shoot, always good to see folk getting recognised for their hard work, for example Dog Co on that short piece of film from last year, pics of various people in WWII Reen mag and AI etc.

raffles- you seriously remind me of leggit from brothers in arms
Now a 'namsofter. I have an M72 L.A.W. for sale for 110 posted, PM if interested.
Thanks, I actually had to google it since I haven't really played any video games since the conflict series. It's probably because I haven't shaved for a few days! looks like I've found a new loadout!
I usually get Louis Theroux-

aha, i certainly see the resemblance.

Cool pic Tom, are you coming to Bushey?
Not that it really matters but there is a discrepancy between your helmet insignia and the 82nd patch on your arm...

You have an 82nd badge on your jumpsuit...
You have a Spade on your helmet...which is famously the insignia of the 506th Reg, 101st Airborne Div.
This from Mark Bando's website,
The Infantry regiments were represented by playing card symbols,Diamonds for 501, Hearts for 502, Spades for 506th, Clubs for the 327th Glider Infantry.
The 82nd was comprised of the 504th PIR, 505th PIR, 507th PIR, 508th PIR and the 325th GIR, plus other smaller units...not the 506th.
Also, Garand is awesome wish I had one!

From what I recall the spades (or symbols) on most peoples helmets are far larger than they really were as they made them larger for BoB.
Might be easier to respray your helmet than sew new badges?
